Why use Bio Diesel?
- No Engine Modification Needed
Bio diesel can be used as an alternative in diesel-engined cars without any modification to the engine.
There is no costly conversion process (compared with LPG - liquefied petroleum
gas, for instance, where the cost of engine conversion
can be up to £2000 and take years to recoup in actual fuel savings).
The cost of a Processor from Yorkshire Green Fuels Ltd is only
£295.
- Cheap Raw Materials
Bio diesel is produced from vegetable oils (eg rape seed) that are available
from 'cash and carry' stores or directly from producers at around 60p per
litre or less. With fuel prices set to remain high, you could save the
initial cost of your processor after 4 or 5 production runs of 160 litres.
Why not share the cost of a processor throughout your family and increase
savings for you all?
It is also possible to process 'used' vegetable oil from sources such as
fish and chip shops at very low cost (5p-10p per litre), but this should not
be used in our processor unless filtered thoroughly to remove sediment and
other impurities which could damage the processor or your car engine.
- Clean, Safe Production Process
The vegetable oil is heated to 50°, then mixed with methanol and caustic soda
for one hour. There is no use of high pressure, and the bio diesel produced
is clean, non-volatile and non-flammable under normal conditions. Unlike
petrol it can be stored safely in plastic containers.
